Der Score zu »Mission: Impossible 2« von Hans Zimmer ist sicher nicht der Score des Jahres, doch hat mit Sicherheit einige starke Passagen. Ein Leckerbissen für jeden Score-Fan ist »Bare Island«. Der zwei Minuten lange Chor-Aufbau, der ein wenig an »Carmina Burana« (»Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi«: »O Fortuna«) von Carl Orff erinnert, entlädt sich in einer E-Gitarren-Interpretation des »Mission: Impossible«-Themas von Lalo Schifrin. Track 9, »Injection«, ist ein eher ruhiger Track, der von der Stimme Lisa Gerrards lebt, die schon für »Gladiator« mit Hans Zimmer zusammenarbeitete. Der ganze Score geht in die Richtung Südländisch (Track 3: »Seville«) bis Hard-Rock (Track 11: »Bare Island«). Das 8. Stück, »Bio-Techno«, das da einen krassen Kontrast zum Rest des Scores bildet, lässt sich am besten mit »geordneter Lärm« beschreiben.
Fazit: Ein für Fans und Laien durchaus interessanter Score, der jedoch sicher nicht perfekt ist. Punkte-Bewertung: 6/10
